US Tabloid is the base size for every layout
US Tabloid measures 11 × 17 inches (279.4 × 431.8 mm) and provides a larger working area than US Letter for printed designs. The format is commonly used when a flyer, brochure or promotional piece needs more space for images, headings and supporting information. It works well for business promotions, menus, event materials, product information and other large format print layouts.
A single page US Tabloid flyer uses one 11 × 17 inch sheet, keeping the design as one flat surface. The same Tabloid panel can also be used as the starting point for folded formats, allowing designers to organize content across multiple sections while keeping the individual panels consistent with the original paper size.
Folding changes the overall sheet size
Folding a US Tabloid sheet creates additional panels while keeping the individual panel size based on the 11 × 17 inch format. A bi fold uses two Tabloid panels, a tri fold uses three panels, and a four fold uses four panels. As more panels are added, the unfolded artwork area becomes wider and provides more space for organizing content.
These folded formats are useful for brochures, menus, event programs, business information, product presentations and promotional materials. A tri fold, for example, creates six design panels across both sides of the sheet, giving you separate areas for covers, headings, images, descriptions and other important information.
